Turning health data into impact

How to make health data more available and reusable in a reliable way – OHDSI Sweden Symposium 2026

The symposium brings together researchers, healthcare organizations, authorities, industry, patient organizations and the OHDSI community to explore how the international data model OMOP and complementary standards can support reliable reuse of Swedish health data. Presentations, panels, interactive demonstrations and a poster fair connect practical experience with national priorities and opportunities for collaboration.

Once you have your data in OMOP format, what does it look like? What can you do with it?

This hands-on session brings OMOP and OHDSI to life through live demonstrations of selected tools and applications from the ecosystem. See how standardized data can be explored, assessed and used to generate insights, and discover what this can mean in practice for both data owners and data users.

In this session we will demo the new version of ATLAS (data analytics), AIRES + DQD (quality assurance), and potentially other valuable tools for health data harmonization and reuse.

Demo presenters: Huiqi Li TBC (Sahlgrenska Academy, Gothenburg University) and Lars Halvorsen (Passion 2 Improve Sverige AB, edenceHealth NV)

16:15

How are we mobilizing towards improved health data availability and reusability on a national level?

This panel brings together perspectives from key national authorities and stakeholders to discuss ongoing national initiatives, opportunities and challenges. An opportunity for the audience to provide comments or ask questions.

Panelists (TBD): Representation from Swedish authorities and national institutions. We are looking to get participation from The Swedish eHealth Agency, The National Board of Health and Welfare and The Swedish Medical Agency or The Dental and Pharmaceutical Benefits Agency, as well as The Swedish Association of Local Authorities and Regions (SALAR).
