The industry needs to adapt its operations for sustainable development. At the same time the healthcare is facing challenges. These societal challenges, together with the transformation of the industry, require increased digital development, more innovations, and an increased use of digital tools. Therefore, STUNS Life science offers BIO-X Accelerate where companies are given the opportunity to validate their solution in the healthcare and/or the life science industry.
BIO-X Accelerate Make an IMPACT in healthcare and life science
Who can apply?
Small and medium-sized enterprises based (registered seat) in East Middle Sweden.
That includes Uppsala, Västmanland, Södermanland, Östergötland, and Örebro counties.
What can you apply for?
Validation of technical or digital solutions (products/services) that can create IMPACT in healthcare and/or the life science industry.
How much can you apply for?
1–10 MSEK (covering 30% of the costs).
The financing is provided by the European Regional Development Fund and the Swedish Agency for Economic and Regional Growth (Tillväxtverket).

Project Period
Companies can initiate their projects earliest after a decision from the Swedish Agency for Economic and Regional Growth (Tillväxtverket), and these projects must conclude by August 31, 2026. The projects can run for up to two years from the decision date.

The BIO-X Accelerate
program offers
Financing
BIO-X Accelerate grants selected companies funding of 30% of actual costs. The project period may be a maximum of 24 months. The applicant must cover the remaining costs themselves. Within the process, an investment meeting will also be held, to increase the companies’ opportunities to pitch their ideas to private investors.
Process support and access to expertise
Projects receive funding, support, and access to expertise via STUNS’ network. Applications will have the opportunity to receive feedback on their applications in the first application round.
Furthermore, the top ranked applicants who makes it to the extended application round will be invited to a pitch meeting with investors. In connection to the investment meeting, the companies that are invited to pitch will receive pitch training through our strategic partner Connect.
The network can also be helpful when contacting potential test environments.
Retained ownership
The company retains full ownership of project results and its data with complete confidentiality.
Increased chances of success
After project completion, the project will significantly have reduced its technical, business and market risks, enabling other future investments and/or market introduction.
With support from an Advisory Board (selected experts), access to a large network and programs and activities offered during the project period, you have higher chances for a successful implementation of the project.
